About St Etienne-de-Lisse
St Etienne-de-Lisse is a small community in the heart of the of the Bordeaux region in south west France. The wines produced in this village are sold under the umbrella of the St Emilion brand. The village is about one hour’s drive from the interesting city of Bordeaux and can therefore be reached by road, rail and air.
Its nearest neighbour, St Emilion,
is a mere 5 kilometres away. Other great centres of the wine industry
are nearby. Besides the famous red wine areas you are also within 30
minutes drive of the "Entre Deux Mers" area which specialises in both
sweet and dry white wine. As you can imagine, many of our French friends
either own or work on the vineyards. However, for those who have less
interest in wine growing, there are many other areas of interest to
explore.
The Gironde estuary with the historical town of Blaye is well worth a
visit. The town of Castillon also has a past to investigate with it’s
annual re-enactment of the battle with the English held every July. The
areas along the banks of the Gironde and Dordogne rivers provide a
contrast with the scenery around the village.

with its sandy beaches and the enormous sand dune at Pyla are a must for
children and adults alike. The bay of Archachon with Cap Ferret at the
furthest point makes a good day trip by car.
